Jeff Haas Music in coordination with Crooked Tree Arts Center - Petoskey presents Sheela Bringi and Elden Kelly with special guest Nabin Shrestha
Indian American singer and multi‑instrumentalist Sheela Bringi and virtuoso, versatile guitarist Elden Kelly with tabla master Nabin Shrestha for a transcendent concert weaving rāga‑inspired melodies, Indian folk traditions, and the improvisational spirit of jazz.
Audiences know Elden Kelly well from his performances at The Alluvion in Traverse City, including with the Wilson Brothers, and both he and Sheela Bringi have delighted listeners here before. This past summer, they appeared as special guests with Dave Sharp Worlds Quartet. Now, we are thrilled to present them once again as featured artists—Sheela, Elden, and tabla master Nabin Shrestha—all coming from Colorado—bringing all-new music in an intimate trio format.

It's a Party! Celebrating the Music of Jeff Haas
Featuring the Jeff Haas Quintet & the MI Young Lions
Join us for an evening dedicated to Jeff Haas's award winning music, bringing together favorite veteran performers and the next generation of jazz artists to explore Jeff's distinctive body of work.
The Jeff Haas Quintet kicks off the night (7–8:30pm), drawing on deep jazz traditions while weaving in elements of funk, R&B, and other global influences. The ensemble highlights the expressive range and rhythmic vitality that define his music.
The MI Young Lions, a nine piece ensemble, take the stage (9–10 p.m.) offering their own interpretations of Haas’s compositions. This set reflects the continuing life of his music as it moves through a new generation of performers. Arrangements by Chris Glassman and Randy Napoleon.

Jeff Haas at Michigan State University
Jeff Haas is commissioned to arrange his music to be played by the Michigan State University Jazz Nonets. A public performance of the ensembles will takes place at MSU’s Murray Hall on Friday February 13th.
